Homelessness Research Task - Cover Lesson (Stone Cold)

In this worksheet students use computers/ipads to research about homelessness. There are structured questions for them to answer and website links provided. The worksheet culminates in students designing a persuasive poster for a homeless charity of their choice, using the information they have found in their research, This would make a handy cover lesson if you have access to ICT. I originally did this lesson when I was teaching ‘Stone Cold’ by Robert Swindells, although it would also make a good PSE/PSHCE/PSHE lesson. Enjoying my free resources? In this lesson pupils consider the impact of waste at Christmas and how it can be more sustainable. The lesson ends with pupils completing their own sustainable Christmas activity - either making their own decorations, crackers, present, or wrapping paper (N.B. You will need to bring in recyclable materials for this lesson - old newspaper, toilet roll tubes, tissue paper etc.) Enjoying my free resources? Please consider leaving the resource a quick review. Punctuation Thieves!

In this worksheet, students add in the missing punctuation that has been ‘stolen’! The worksheet is chilli differentiated: *1 chilli = easiest 2 chillies = more difficult 3 chillies = the hardest! This worksheet would suit higher ability KS3 students, or KS4 and KS5 punctuation practice. Answer sheet included (N.B. I use the Oxford comma, so you might need to edit the answer sheet if required) Enjoying my free resources? Please consider leaving the resource a quick review. Pupils use chromebooks/a computer/ipads to research an endangered sea creature. They then create a Google Slides about the creature, or you could get them to create a leaflet/poster instead. Works well as a cover lesson.
