(Copies of the poems can be found in the book ‘Library of Wales: Poetry 1900-2000’, edited by Meic Stephens) Pupils then answer questions, and write an analysis and comparison of the poems using the sentence starters. In the resource, pupils design their own theme park! Task 1 - designing a map Task 2 - creating a persuasive leaflet Task 3 - Oracy - creating a TV advert The project usually takes around 9 lessons to complete. For Task 3, you can get digitial literacy involved by having pupils create a Powerpoint and do voiceovers of their script. It works well as an end of term ‘bolt-on’ unit. I usually use it in the summer term! Did you find this resource helpful? Please consider leaving the resource a quick review to help others decide whether they should download it too. In this worksheet students use computers/ipads to research about homelessness. There are structured questions for them to answer and website links provided. The worksheet culminates in students designing a persuasive poster for a homeless charity of their choice, using the information they have found in their research, This would make a handy cover lesson if you have access to ICT. I originally did this lesson when I was teaching ‘Stone Cold’ by Robert Swindells, although it would also make a good PSE/PSHCE/PSHE lesson. Enjoying my free resources? Drama Intro Lesson

Drama Intro Lesson

(0)
This lesson goes through some introductory warm up games for students new to drama. I’ve given a brief description of each game, but if you do a quick Google search you will usually find more details about how to play each game (YouTube is also good for this). Personally, I like to ask students at the end of each game what skills they think they needed to be successful at the game (e.g. teamwork, precise movements, memory, etc.) There are two lessons included - one for a classroom based lesson (i.e. no space to move!) and one for a hall/drama studio (more movement) Enjoying my free resources?
