Perfect for class work or cover work, this Maths Fun pack includes numbers 1-100 and is best suited to approx. 6-8 year olds. It provides one activity sheet each on 2D shapes, 3D shapes, symmetry, weights, sequences and number order, magic triangles and squares. Learners use previous knowledge to work through the activities and puzzles. All activities can also be completed as a Fun Marble Challenge, which is explained along with other suggestions. 15 pages of ‘hello’ in 45 different languages from around the world, including English :), all in Publisher and as a pdf file. The Publisher file enables you to add languages (using the current format), e.g. to include any other languages spoken by students or staff at your school. Each page features 3 bunting triangles to print and cut out. There is no particular order in which to arrange the bunting. I would suggest that like me you punch each triangle at the top with a 2-hole punch, pull a string/ribbon through the holes front to back and to the front again. A piece of sticky tape at the back will stop each triangle from moving along the string/ribbon. Print on card or on paper and laminate. Get your learners talking about kitchen utensils and equipment. Learners are encouraged to name the many illustrated items, describe their use and discuss what skills they will apply when using them. The presentation contains 10 slides and starts by showing all items used in the games. Further slides concentrate on a few skills at a time before bringing all items together again at the end. There is a reminder to ‘think safety’ on each slide. It is left to the teacher to decide how to exploit the slides which are kept simple. A vocabulary list contains the terminology for the items in the pictures. This can be used to differentiate for weaker students. The board game and cards are available in A4 or A3 format. The board game is self-explanatory - The square with the question mark can be determined at will. The cards can be printed for use as mini-flashcards or if printed on card and/or laminated could be used for ‘snap’ or ‘pairs’.
