Literacy - Root Words - A to V

(0)
Two powerpoints to help improve students’ vocabulary and give them a reading strategy to use when approaching new words. These powerpoints could be used for 24 different lessons as you copy over the different rootwords from Powerpoint 1 to adapt Powerpoint 2. Then each slide in Powerpoint 1 could be set as homework or as a starter task in main English lessons, or as a form activity. Powerpoint 1. Rootwords wordsearch. Each slide contains 10 words that share a rootword along with a wordsearch and the meaning of that root word. There are 24 slides, each with a different root word going from A to V. Powerpoint 2. A lesson that can be used over and over each week if you replace the rootwords. For example, I have set it up with Auto and the following week you might use Bene instead. There are 6 different activities, notes about tasks and the logic behind it.
