I have a wealth of resources that are aimed primarily at KS4 and KS5; however, there are some useful KS3 tasks that have been uploaded this year. Topics at KS5 include: Russia and its Rulers, 1855-1941; Later Tudors, 1547-1603; Popular Culture and the Witchcraze of the 16th and 17th Centuries; Italian Unification, 1830-1870; and Germany, 1890-1990. As well as History, I also have a few resources relating to Geography and ICT that some users may find helpful.

A worksheet for anyone studying peacemaking and the League of Nations. This corresponds to the current AQA GCSE History B specification, however it can also be adapted for any board or age level. KS3 assessment material on Cromwell, including a source sheet, instructions for pupils and a marking grid. Also included is an analysis/evaluation template that is useful to get the class started on the assessment. I usually go through one of the sources in class and fill in the grid in the lesson, then have the group turn it into an essay along with the rest of the sources. Can be differentiated by reducing the number of sources to 3 or by adding more descriptions to the material. Alternatively, for high achievers you could encourage them to find similarities/differences between the sources and add these in to the essay.

Resources to be used as part of a Year 7 Geography lesson on flooding/flood defences. Small groups of students are each given a card with a reason for flooding; they must explain in their groups why that factor may increase/decrease the risk of flooding (then rotate the cards and feedback as a class). I have included an information sheet to be given out alongside this (can easily be turned into a gap fill!) Also included is a PowerPoint presentation with the different types of flood defences. Students can complete a comparison table of each defence based on its cost, lifespan, appearance etc. and rank the defences.

A short, 10 minute key words test for students learning about rivers and the water cycle. This was used for a Year 7 lesson; however, it could easily be adapted for any KS3 scheme of work or even GCSE! The key terms for this topic are numerous and these are just a selection of some of the ones that students find tricky. Great as a starter or for homework.

Various resources from a Year 8 topic on Coasts (but could be adapted for any KS3 Geography class). Included are PowerPoint presentations (with diagrams, photos, links to animations and questions) on landforms created by erosion/deposition. Also included are two worksheets: the first is a quick starter where students need to match up the processes of erosion with the description; the second is a homework task on erosion, where students have to provide longer responses.

This is a great field work topic with several different aspects; however, each areas comes under the umbrella of sustainability. Students will need to visit 2 different supermarkets (we visited a small M&S and a large Tesco within walking distance of the school) and find the countries of origin of several fruits and vegetables. As a class we then: labelled these on a blank map of the world (for a display), calculated the distance travelled and created graphs (Excel, cross-curricular with ICT!) based on food miles/carbon emissions. Another aspect was packaging and recycled products. Students had to fill in a survey of the products in the supermarkets; we also interview customers and members of staff for their shopping habits. This all culminated in a huge display on sustainability. This resource can be adapted for any KS3 class and can be used as a stand alone topic or as part of ecosystems/sustainability topics. It would be great for PSHE too!

A basic worksheet with the key interfaces in a table. Students have to define an interface and then fill in the table with the advantages/disadvantages/description of each type of interface. This worksheet could then be used as a revision aid as students move closer to the exam. This worksheet was designed for the CIE iGCSE ICT specification; however, it would be appropriate for other exam boards that feature a topic on interfaces.

A short 20 mark assessment for the CIE iGCSE ICT specification. Questions have all been previously included on CIE papers. This would be ideal for an end of unit assessment to test students' knowledge of the different types of computers/printers. Mark schemes can be found on the CIE website; however, all of the questions are relatively straight forward.

A short 20-mark assessment that is designed for the CIE iGCSE ICT specification. All questions test students' knowledge of Units 2 and 3, so this would be great to use as a half-term assessment or revision exercise. All questions have featured on past CIE papers (to which the content is credited). All mark schemes for the questions can be found on the CIE website; however, the questions are relatively straightforward and can be marked without a mark scheme.

A basic worksheet that introduces the difference between Bluetooth and WiFi. This is designed for GCSE/iGCSE topics on Networks; however, it could certainly be used for KS3. Students are presented with a table of specifications for Bluetooth and WiFi connections and have to assess the strengths and weaknesses of each one. More able students are then encouraged to think of situations/scenarios where each method of connection would be appropriate.

Included here are three resources relevant to the changing scope of the European witch craze, geographically and chronologically. I have included the original data for the graph that shows the number of executions, which is taken from the Access to History text book. The blank axis can be used to get students to plot the changing severity of the witch craze in England, Germany and America (the case studies for the OCR unit). The Access to History text book is necessary to complete these worksheets. These resources will need to be used alongside other worksheets and activities. Two resources to be used alongside other worksheets on the causes of the witchcraze. The first is a list of several causes that have been put forward for the witch hunts. Students will each take one and try to explain it on paper, the cards will then rotate around. Students can rank the causes by how convincing they find the explanations. Secondly is a summary table of the causes for witch hunting. Using the activity above, students can fill in their tables. A fun activity to get students used to inputting data into allocated cells. Students will follow the instructions to add words to different cells on a blank Excel spreadsheet. At the end of the task, the words will come together to form a riddle (Answer: Clock). Students then have to email their answers to the teacher (teachers must insert their email address on to the worksheet), which helps them to repeat this key skill. Students who finish quickly could create their own sheets, using riddles from the internet or ones they have created themselves.

A card sort activity for the iGCSE CIE ICT topic on ATMs (Computers and Banking). Students are given the steps of putting a debit card into an ATM to withdraw cash. Presented on the sheet is the correct order of the steps. Teachers should print this off as the answer sheet and print additional copies to be cut up. Students then have to sort the instructions into the correct order.

A cut and stick activity for GCSE pupils; however, it is simple enough for KS3 computing. Students have to sort the tiles into input and output devices (or both) and stick them on to the relevant side of the diagram (blow up to A3). I would then encourage students to think of some more devices and write those in on the relevant side. Students could also write a basic description of the devices that they are unfamiliar with, which would help them with their revision.

Students are given the task of searching a children's E-Safety website and selecting the most relevant information to include on their posters. The advice sheet explains the key icons that can be found on the Home ribbon, which students may use to help their posters stand out. More able students will be able to add images to their documents.
