This lesson looks at the different ways that the high street is doing to “fight back” against decline. The lesson, like others still focus on exam practise as this is the easiest way to get pupils to focus on their weaknesses. This lesson is the sixth lesson in the second theme of the new WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 specification for geography. This lesson looks at the ways in which rural areas are changing. Pupils are to look at the reasons behind why rural areas are changing and to look at the reasons for deprivation. This lesson looks at the various different strategies that can be done to help make a rural community sustainable. Pupils do various different tasks and summarise their knowledge through exam questions which help them practise their exam prac skills. This is the 3rd lesson in the 3rd theme of the new WJEC/Eduqas 2016 specification for geography. This lesson looks at the formation of shield and stratovolcanoes and characteristics of each of them. It also looks at hotspots and geysers and as homework pupils are to research small scale features such as cinder cones and to answer the questions on the sheet. This is the 1st lesson in the 3rd theme of the new WJEC/Eduqas 2016 specification for geography. This lesson covers an overview of the structure of the world, how tectonic plates move, the distribution of the worlds earthquakes and volcanoes and Alfred Wegener. This is the 6th lesson in the 3rd theme of the new WJEC/Eduqas 2016 specification for geography. This lesson looks at earthquake hazards and what vulnerability will depend on. The lesson also contains a case study that pupils will need to research and goes through what tsunami’s are and the PTWS. This is the 7th lesson in the 3rd theme of the new WJEC/Eduqas 2016 specification for geography. This lesson looks at different strategies that can be used to predict volcanic eruptions, what hazard mapping is and the 3P’s. There is an assessed homework that pupils should complete as homework and this is usually given out and handed in before the revision session, so during the revision session I would go through the assessed homework and anything else that pupils didn’t understand. The assessed homework would count towards their overall grade for that theme. A detailed markscheme and grade boundaries are included. This is the twentieth and thirtieth lesson in the second theme of the new WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 specification for geography. This lesson looks at the retail section of the topic. This lesson can be done in the full hour or to make it easier because there is a lot of tasks you can split it up over two lessons. The lesson covers where retail occurs, different features of retailing and hour technology has changed the way we shop. The lesson contains a range of activities all aimed to help with pupils exam practise. The plenary also contains an exam question but it focus on “how far do you agree?” style of questions, where pupils fill in the planning sheet first before answering the question. It’s that time of the year again when we prepare our students with mock exams to see how well they know their stuff. In this mock exam pack, I have created a very detailed mark scheme that looks very similar to the real mark schemes that are used by WJEC examiners. In addition to this I have also added grade boundaries to help consistency with the department awarding process, but also I have looked at previous exam grade boundaries and given the best estimate to what they could be like in the summer. The mock paper includes only the first three themes and includes a range of different questions that help to show pupils the different ways that they could ask a question in the exam. Theme 1 uses the additional questions that have been uploaded to the WJEC websites, Theme 2 and 3 uses a range of past paper questions and exam style questions from the revision guide. The paper is set out like what the real exam paper would be set out like, giving students the opportunity to get a feel of what the real paper would be like. NB, I have decided to print my exam paper in booklet form on A3 paper as I feel like this would give pupils more of a feel for the exam, but you don’t have to do that Any feedback would be great! This is the assessed test for the 6th Theme of the WJEC/WJEC Eduqas 2016 Specification for geography. This assessment contains a range of different knowledge and skills based questions from a range of different exam boards. The assessed test is set out like the exam paper so pupils can get familiar with how/ what their exam paper will be like. The markscheme is detailed which will help you as teachers to be able to mark the assessed test with ease.
