Liven Year 10 Spanish lessons at Easter time! Spanish Semana Santa tasks including* word puzzles* and reading, photo description, a Spanish torrijas recipe reading, word sodoku plus Easter cards to create. Vocabulary includes Spanish Easter words, opinions plus much more so that the resource can work alongside your every day teaching.
This resource works well because
☛ it’s a flexible 11 page learning booklet for your Year 10s to learn vocabulary for Easter in Spanish.
☛ it’s a really engaging work packet which will liven up any Spanish lesson.
☛ the booklet could be used for
in-person printables
distance learning
starter tasks
homework
cover lessons
☛ it’s low or even no prep’ for you
☛ it can run alongside what learners are already doing to aid reading and deciphering skills e.g. photo description
☛ a bilingual vocabulary list included and answer pages where appropriate.
☛ a black and white version is also included
Vocabulary really is comprehensive in case learners are unable to look up words easily, so you may wish to remove this section if you prefer a more difficult booklet!
Booklets are flattened to protect my work and that of others within the resource and are un-editable.

Survey grid to complete about hobbies in French. Extension included. Visually appealing. Learners circulate the classroom and ask as many people as possible about sports. Could extend with graphs/writing up results/third person writing and so on.
La Maison
A French group activity to help describe your house.
Décrit sa maison
How does it work?
First, give everyone a copy of the text.
Learners start by filling in the literacy sheet on this.
Next, randomly give out the pictures which you (of course in all that spare time you’ve got…) have printed and cut up.
Learners then use the text as a basis for writing by working as a group. They can then present their writing to the class at the end. The class try to work out which property they have described and give reasons why.
Alternatively… not in the mood for group work? Give each learner a picture to do the writing individually. Or even in pairs! Bon courage…
Looking for GCSE French jobs consolidation? This is a great work booklet to develop listening, reading and writing. Tasks include picture and word matching vocabulary presentation, puzzles, reading comprehensions, scaffolded writing, a couple of listening activities and independent writing tasks with cues.
If you have introduced GCSE learners to the French jobs topic, this is the ideal resource for you. You can use it to consolidate prior learning. If you haven’t taught the topic, use this resource for them to work out or deduce the vocabulary themselves.
Although prior knowledge is assumed, a long bilingual vocabulary list is included to help. Some research on vocabulary and structures might be needed, depending on the ability of your learners.
Ideal for
Distance learning. Open in edit mode and click in the text areas to answer. The background won’t move
Consolidation of the French topic the world of work
Independent learning
Helping with listening skills: 3 pages include listening tasks
The answer pages are given after the main work booklet and therefore may be printed separately or given when needed, rather than in one go to learners. Sample answers are given for writing tasks since, as I’m sure you will understand, responses can vary considerably.
Other uses for the booklet include using the sheets separately for starter tasks or cover lessons, even homework.
Tasks include:
reading comprehensions
scaffolded writing
gap-fills
listening
independent writing task with cues
puzzles*
For examples of vocabulary covered, see the end of the listing.

Various activites for WW1 in French lessons.
pg1 find the matching vocab' from Eng version of poem (might need to print larger version, plain)
pg2 reorder the French version of the poem; verses are in correct order but within verse the line order is wrong
pg3 poem written out in full. Some words in bold to look up with some groups!
pg4 propaganda from France: translate/discuss? Then do own. Some unfortunately from WW2 but too late now.
pg5 explanation of origin of poem for teacher reference
An aide-mémoire! Lists of food and drink to use with any year or ability. Plenty of space to add more vocab’ as pupils come across it. Print double-sided to make a booklet. NOTE: my PC has corrected the French “vanille” to the English, “vanilla”. Can’t yet find a way to change it back: please get your students to correct it! I might do this by asking them to find the deliberate mistake… :)
Simple assessment: answer the questions in Spanish.
¿Cómo te llamas?
¿Cuántos años tienes?
¿Dónde vives?
¿Qué tal?
Extension: ¿Cómo se escribe, tu nombre? Y ¿otra información?
Noël: A pack of French Christmas resources for years 7 to 11. 5 or more sheets per year group which eliminates the need to scrabble around every year as they are all different. Starts basic for Y7 with vocabulary based sheets/word search etc and by Y11 they have some multiple choice reading comprehension to do.
If you can’t fit these in to your SoW, why not use them for French club, HW or just for keen beans!
I’ve included a PDF of everything plus another copy which has hints/tips/answers also brought over from the original. Note: they print landscape.
