Two teachers with over 16 years experience with a shared passion for reading. Spending time researching the teaching of whole class reading, we found there was a lack of resources available and decided to share our gained knowledge to save other teachers valuable time.

his download comprises of 15 lessons fully resourced and differentiated. The lessons focus on the key skills of reading and allow the children to explore the high quality text, whilst learning new reading skills. Learning objectives include how to identify how the author has used language to create atmosphere, to use context clues to estimate the meaning of an unfamiliar word, to summarise the events which have happened so far, to use given facts to make inferences about a character’s life, to make a prediction about the next part of the story, to identify the words or phrases used by the author to show Edward’s emotions and many many more. The lessons have been developed for upper key stage 2 children, but could be easily adapted using the differentiated resources for any age group.
