This resource is an entire unit of work based upon the brilliant book ‘The Lost Thing’. There are 9 sessions with a wide variety of tasks. The questions have been carefully worded to be as similar as possible to ‘test style’ questions so children are regularly practicing skills that will need. Get your children inspired for the 2019 cricket world cup with these fun cricket questions. The children have a series of mathematical questions to solve based on the data from the 2015 world cup (taken from (cricbuzz.com). The children have to use the data tables and solve a variety of mathematical challenges based on the cricket data. The work comes with an answer scheme to save you as the teacher time - the children can mark their own work. I have also included a link to the opening party which could be watched to inspire the pupils.
Children complete the warm up using the fact sheet provided to give them a base layer of knowledge about the Monarch butterfly. The children must use this information to solve the variety of mathematical problems. Brilliant KS2 lesson in the run up to the world cup. I also did a follow up lesson where the children had to produce a bar chart of the top 5 teams in the world and then 5 teams of their choice - they absolutely loved it. This resource also includes a mark scheme and a feedback questions to reduce your workload! Enjoy! Once downloaded this is editable through microsoft word to make it easier/harder to suit your class.
