Print these out and cut them out. Have them near the door and train late-comers to take one, go to their place quietly and fill in the card. When it is filled in, you can take it from them and read the reason and decide how to proceed, all without interrupting your lesson. TOP TIP: Have a clipboard with your lesson plan, behaviour management tracker and some late cards on it that you can carry around whilst circulating the classroom. You can also add some small scraps of paper ready to jot down information to help answer students’ questions. Clipboards with the little plastic pocket to store things in are best for this.
