# TES iboard's Shop

TES iboard is a library of engaging, visual, interactive resources. The resources can be found across TES in curriculum categories or on the dedicated site. The activities are designed for 4-11 year olds but are also popular with Special Needs teachers. Many of the resources are open-ended, giving you the space to experiment, make decisions, play, create and control.

#### Measure Capacity (KS2 Version)

This is an interactive resource. Click the weblink to the right of this page to launch it. A TESiboard ( http://tesiboard.co.uk ) capacity and 'reading scales' activity. Find the capacity of each container by pouring it into the measuring jug and working out the value using the scale. The options screen gives a huge amount of control in terms of setting 'reading scales' challenges. The jug can be set to have reasonably simple, labelled scales or quite complex, unlabelled ones. Get pupils to explain how they have deduced the answer. A simpler version of this activity works with just 10 intervals of 100ml.

#### Comparing Animal Weights

This is an interactive activity to compare weights and sizes of animals, using virtual balance scales. Discussions will introduce comparative language such as 'greater', 'smaller', 'heavier' and 'lighter'. The report screen asks pupils to complete comparative statements about the animals. #### Off We Go

This is an interactive story to introduce the topic Bear Abroad. Click the poster to help Bear select his holiday, then ask pupils to pack items useful for that destination. After choosing his transport, put Bear aboard and watch him speed off to his destination. Discuss the implications of the pupils' transport choice for different destinations and items chosen for weather conditions. The report button allows you to print out Bear's ticket and holiday plans and could be used to support role play or be used as part of a display. These resources are ideal to learn about Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and the civil rights movement. The lead document tells the story of Rosa Parks, who became a key figure in the fight for equal rights for black people in the 1950s. Rosa was arrested one day for refusing to give up her seat on a bus to a white man. The newspaper template allows pupils to write their own new report of Rosa's arrest and the events that catapulted her to national recognition.
