Great game to use when teaching directions or instructions! Instructions: Stick the donkey(s) on the wall. Arrange the children into pairs. Blindfold one child in each pair and give them a tail. The blindfolded child must listen to his/her partner’s instructions to correctly pin the tail in the correct place. Great for learning directions and following instructions. Money - Jobs, Time, Money, Taxes & Take Home Pay! 3-page booklet . ACTIVITY 1 - Jobs, Time & Money Give your student’s a pretend job (Job A, B, C, D, E) OR let them choose their own job! Either tell them their hourly wage (for each job) OR get them to research the hourly wage for their chosen jobs. Now get them to complete the template provided by calculating the daily, weekly, monthly and annual salary. Once calculated, tell them that the government takes away a BIG chunk, as does the NHS … then you’ve got other BILLS to pay! Just watch their faces drop … definitely a wake up call and an introduction to adult working life! . ACTIVITY 2 - Income Tax, Bills & Take Home Pay Once the shock has settled in, give them the next activity to complete. Get them to calculate the ‘take home pay’ for each job after deducting tax, NHS and pension contributions. . A superb lesson … your students (and parents) will love it. Instructions sheet provided. Fully editable.
