The pack includes: - Instructions on how to use colourful semantics to support ordering of words in sentences (this can be used to increase confidence in speech or to support children's writing). - 10 pages with three pictures on each page. Children cut out and order the key words into the subejct, verb, object order. Children should then be encouraged to read the words aloud to reinforce the correct order of words in English sentences. This pack is for children who are starting to use 3 key words in their speech or are starting to write 3 key words in their writing. It focuses on 'who, what doing, and what' so that children start to understand the subject, verb, object sequence of English sentences. 3 simple worksheets. Children direct the boy to the school bus around this simple maze. They then need to write down the directions they have taken. You can direct children to use positional words such as up, down, right and left. Or you can direct children to use cardinal directions, North, South, East and West. Decide whether you want children to record the number of squares they have moved. (Could be linked to a lesson using beebots. )

This activity pack is for the traditional story - 'The Little Red Hen' It is particularly suitable for Early Years and SEN classes. It includes: - An audio power point presentation of the story. Using simplified language. (Audio only works on new versions of powerpoint) - 4 to a page sequencing cards of the entire story (you can use a subset of the cards if you prefer). - Writing pattern sheets for children who are beginning to develop writing skills. - Counting clip cards. - Playdough mats. - Mix and match matching cards. - Writing sheets with wide and narrow writing lines. - A word mat with key words from the story on with pictures to support. I have narrated the story so it has audio (I have a British accent so this is the accent with which it is narrated - please download the preview for a sample). Use these long a task cards to support your children to learn 3 of the different spellings for the long e sound. There are 20 task cards. Each task card has a picture and children need to decide whether the picture uses the ee or ea spelling of the long e sound. They can then use the answer sheet provided to write down which spelling it is and then to spell out the word. A teacher's answer sheet is provided for easy marking or this can be given to children after they have completed the cards to mark their own work. These cards could also be used clip cards if you provided children with clothes pins to go with the cards. Simply print on card, chop and laminate so that these cards can be used time and time again. (I have also included the cards duplicated in black and white for those with only a black ink printing option).

The games focus on children connecting words through rhyming words, starting sounds, categories and parts of items to ideas and words they already know. This is a simple pack for children to work on identifying rhyming words. It uses cvc words only. It contains: - 3 pages for children to circle (or they could colour) all the words that rhyme with a given word. - 3 pages of words for children to cut and paste into a table of 3 options of ending sounds. - 3 pages of words where children have to link across from one word to two more words that rhyme. - 30 word cards that can be used for rhyming snap or rhyming pairs. - 15 dominoes using 30 words that can be used for rhyming dominoes.

Then use the task cards and the one step word problems to reinforce the concept. The children should be thinking about the different community helpers who could help them in each situation and about what the appropriate response is. For example, if you graze your leg will have a different answer to if you find someone unconscious.
