The animated powerpoint takes students through how to simply buy, for example, 6 tins of catfood when there is a deal of buy one get one half price. There is a more challenging "how many could you buy with £10?" type question. Two lessons which slowly take students through the basics of curve sketching. The powerpoints show students how to get a hold of the shape of each curve (quadratic, cubic, quartic, reciprocal), the role the sign of the dominant terms plays and the effect of repeated roots (tangency). The powerpoints contain a starter of basic material in the A level course so far and the worksheets are fully differentiated. One of these can easily be used with KS4, the other should only be used for high achievers

This is the 15th lesson in the AS course devised by myself. The lesson powerpoint will show students how to solve quadratic inequalities by factorising and sketching the curve. A 5 minute starter on recent material students should know is included and there is a generic plenary on the last slide. The resource that accompanies the lesson will allow students to practise the lesson's objective, with the questions matching those explained by you in your exposition. There are 3 levels of differentiation on the resource and this will help your planning of directed differentiation. Resources can be printed so that students can have their own files of notes and examples. This can also be used with KS4

An entire lesson that covers foundation number elements that students frequently forget: HCF, LCM, BIDMAS, square numbers, four rules of number, powers of numbers. The mental starter is differentiated and is simple number work in context of buying items at a cafe. The powerpoint takes students through the exact questions that they will be tackling in the resource. The last slide shows the first 10 square numbers and prime numbers. The resource is then fully differentiated from 1 star to 3 star with questions based on the content of the slide show. This can be printed out and students write on the resource.
