For several years I worked with Easylearn publishers, developing resources for children struggling with English and Maths. I am one of the creators of the Froggy Match-it phonics app, which helps beginner readers to learn to read and spell effectively.

Each of the three books contains stories to improve sequencing and text comprehension. Book 1 has three-part texts to put in order, Book 2 four-part and Book 3 five-part texts. Each story has two versions: one with simpler text and more limited vocabulary, which is useful for less-confident readers. Suitable for KS1 plus older pupils with less-developed literacy skills. Previously available through Easylearn. Practical note: the easier version of each story has a top right-hand corner picture which includes a cat, the harder one features a dog. Stories are interchangeable and an easier and a harder version can be used at the same time within a group of children.

This book is a collection of activities to extend pupils’ opportunities to encounter words and their meanings. The sheets are also useful for developing dictionary skills, and are arranged alphabetically for ease of reference for the teacher. Most of the words can be found in junior dictionaries.
