Main
Self learning task, known as the market place activity. This is an excellent activity to showcase group work, peer learning, peer teaching and cooperation. I have used this activity with all ability groups and find it works brilliantly with all. Low ability groups will need more support, but they will probably gain more from the activity. All resources that you should need are contained within this lesson.
Plenary
Students either complete an exam question or some short answer questions (all with answers), or both, depending on the ability of your groups and the time you have remaining
A whole scheme of work consisting of the following lessons:

L03 - Separating mixtures
L04 - Fractional distillation and paper chromatography
L05 - History of the atom
L06 - Structure of the atom
L07 - Ions, atoms and isotopes
L08 - Electronic structures
