Solving Equations (Hard) with Answers

Made to encourage my Year 8's to answer in fraction form. Goes through 2 step right through to fractions on both sides. Challenge section of factorising quadratics in the middle. (I would change this if you haven't covered it!) Answers on the second page.

QLA Template

(4)
Complete with pre-formated conditional formatting, a self explanatory grid set up and a blank sheet all created. I am a sad human being who loves to create QLA's but I am aware that others think that they are the devil. I have created this to try take away from the bulk of the work and make it an under a half hour job to create. If anyone notices any bugs please let me know so I can fix. Additionally any other ideas would be great!

Exam Review Sheet

(1)
I made this review sheet for Year 10 after their end of year exams because I want to assess the process that they went through. One side is dedicated to how the prepped for the exam and one side is for them to discuss how they felt at various points in the exam. I’ve kept it generic to use with other groups!

I give this to the students (printed in A4 or A5 depending on how much room they need) at the end of the lesson to assess an overview of the lesson. I mark it as soon as I can (ha) and it allows me to spot any misconceptions. The last question is a challenge one to push the most able students.

Factorising, Completing the Square, Quadratic Formula Card Sort

My once a year card sort! These are written already in order so either: a) Cut them out yourself (groan) OR b) Just give them to the kids and get them to cut them out and don't mention they are already in order. I always say cut up a column at a time. This gives students different types of question and formats, matches to the way they should solve and then finally the answers. Really good for students who can do all three things but can't decide what to do when. Any feedback please let me know!
