Hurricane Katrina
Brief introduction to what a hurricane is, then looks at Hurricane Katrina. Students map the progress of Katrina and track it and then look at the effects. Worksheets attached. The sheet referred to on the first slide is just the question on the first slide.

Introduction to clark fisher model and the different types of industry. Exam stye question and peer assessment mark scheme as plenary.

Urban Issues Traffic
Looking at the urban issue of traffic, both in AQA and Edexcel specifications and KS3. Looks at the different problems and solutions as well as causes. Homework also available that covers traffic and a couple of different urban problems.

River erosion and long profile
Different activities looking at the rivers long profile and erosion. Differentiated and with further tasks.

Tourist Honeypot Sites
Looks at an introduction to tourist honeypot sites and issues with them and solutions with a worksheet (on the powerpoint). They will then create a leaflet which has differentiated tasks and success criteria. It is based on Canterbury but would just need to change the name to make it your local area, or they could make up an area. Could be used for KS3 or KS4.

Different activities and questions giving an overview of the two topics. Part of new Edexcel 9-1 Geography GCSE.

Management of Earthquakes
Looking at earthquake management and mitigation. Looks at a couple of different ways including earthquake proof buildings. Students can then design their own. Once designed you can also use cocktail sticks and mini marshmallows (or paper straws etc) to make them and test them but this is optional.

What are superpowers?
Looking at an overview of superpowers and how they demonstrate hard and soft power. Aimed at KS3/KS4 but could be used as a basic introduction for KS5 as includes some of the key information.
A variety of tasks including finding resources around the room, with worksheets and resources provided, does not require any textbooks. Differentiated tasks and worksheets and challenge tasks provided.

Urban regeneration
Good introduction to looking at what urban regeneration is. Looks at the problems that urban areas that have faced and the solutions to this. Brings in regeneration as this. Doesn't look specifically at a case study but there is one I have created available.

Rock types and location
Looks at different rock types and their location in the UK. (For edexcel GCSE geog B but can be used for others). Gets students to identify different rock types based on their factors but also map work an identifying different sections of rock across the UK. Exam questions factored in as well to get them used to answering them.

Types of Aid DME
A decision making exercise where the students are deciding where to spend money and what sort of aid to give to their country. This can be in any format such as groups but is set up as a conference. Also includes other tasks that can be done before or after that look at the specific types of aid available and given. It mentions a specific textbook to use but this information is in any GCSE spec textbook.

Ageing and Youthful populations
Introduction to the ideas of ageing and youthful populations and also forms a debate among the class using fox thinking tool.

Coasts and rivers revision
Looks at both coasts and rivers. Work as a 6 tasks all with differentiated tasks (bronze, silver, gold) on them and a further task. Print of the slides as the resources and they can use these with any information they have in their own books but most tasks also work independently of other work completed.

Sub aerial processes
Looks at type of weathering and mass movement and their effect on the coastline. All resources are part of the powerpoint and can be printed off.

Biomes
Looks at the location of different biomes, different characteristics and then the students can design their own animal they think is suitable for these locations.

Eco Tourism
Looks at what ecotourism is as an introduction and then gives two examples of places in Kenya that they have to compare. Trip advisor sheets where they create their own reviews based on these ideas. Easily differentiated through what they put into it. All resources and information included.

Effects and response to tropical Storms
Based on the AQA teaching plan but adapted into an actual lesson. Resources are in the teaching kit.

HIV and AIDS
Full lesson with differentiation ideas, however, needs extra resources. Looks at HIV and AIDs within geography.

National Parks in Africa
This is a research task so they will need either printed resources or access to computers. However, it is set up for them and with criteria to meet.
