This ‘T Shirt About Me’ activity, is a fun, first week back to school ice breaker. It’s a creative way for teachers and students to learn more about each other. Invite students to respond to 30 prompts and questions in a personal and imaginative way, using doodles, words, ‘graffiti style’ lettering and illustrations. T shirt template 1: Art Activity There are 15 sections to illustrate responses to prompts, including: Self portrait, name, age, grade, favourite color, fruit, vegetable, sport, film, song… T shirt template 2: Writing Activity There are 15 questions / prompts to respond to in written format, including: My top 3 goals this year, something I like at school, something I find challenging, if I were a superhero, I can make the world better by, I feel happy when, I feel sad when, I aim to, I wonder if… The T Shirt templates measure approximately 22 x 18cm / 8 x 7 inches and are designed to fit US Letter and A4 paper size for printing. The finished T shirts make a fabulous display, on the bulletin board or pegged up on a line as a garland. The designs are inspired by Piet Mondrian’s abstract work and the pack includes a poster and garland to make the classroom colourful and inspiring. Photographs of completed and partially completed examples included in the packet, use a black ball point pen and colored markers to create a modern, illustrative style to appeal to slightly older children, year 4+ The pack also contains activities for early finishers, including doodle pages and bookmarks to make. Engage children creatively with this Instagram style, mobile phone/tablet ‘All About Me’ art and writing activity. Perfect for the first week back to school. Children can learn more about themselves and their peers and teachers can get to know more about their new students in an imaginative way. This activity invites students to cut out and make their own fold out booklet style art-phone, and then to complete the image making on the front cover and the written elements inside. ‘A Ball About Me’, is a fun, first week back to school, all about me creative art activity. This football template invites students to respond to prompts in a personal, way using doodles and graffiti style lettering. 16 Instructions/prompts on the ball template include: Name, Age, Self Portrait, Favourite Song, Food, Book, Sport and Colour Activities: Colour this, take a line for a walk, draw circles, squares, triangles, lines. This resource also includes the following: ‘A Ball About Me’ garland for students to decorate and display. With 2 letters per page, this will make a large welcoming banner for the new classroom or bulletin board. For early finishers and relaxation time: Make a football bookmark Explore pattern, shape and colour with two additional abstract football doodle worksheets. This ‘Pop Art Box About Me’ art and getting to know you resource, is a fun, first week back to school ice breaker for both girls and boys. It is a really creative way for teachers and students to learn more about each other. Invite students to create a unique ‘All About Me Box’, following the template prompts using Pop Art style doodles and words. Box prompts include: Age, name, grade, self portrait, favorite colors, favorite fruit, my top goal, I love… Students can then fill their boxes with a selection of question cards and work in pairs or small groups to explore their learning goals, aspirations, likes and dislikes. 36 question cards are included, along with blanks for students to have some fun and invent their own questions and games, for example, ‘Would you rather…’ Another task is to make a ‘card to myself’ with a message or goal, or a kind note for a friend. For example, students can give these to their teacher to open at the end of the year. The coloured, finished example included features a girl’s face. However the actual face template has a ‘generic bald head’ so both boys and girls can create a self portrait from this outline. Classroom Decor includes Pop Art inspired garlands and posters to colour and display. There are doodle pages to keep early finishers occupied. UK/Aus/Can spelling options of favourite and colour are included in the templates. Boxes measure 2.6 x 2.6 x 2.6 inches / 6.6 x 6.6 x 6.6cm when finished. The entire box template is designed to fit one sheet of US Letter or A4 sized paper. A larger box template is also included if you have access to an 11x14 or A3 printer. The finished boxes make a fabulous display, on the bulletin board, pegged up on a line as a garland or suspended from the ceiling with clear thread.
