I used this for a week of sentences for a year 1 LA set. This has the week plan, smart notebooks and book pictures. This was for an Africa topic and we used it to compare it to Little Red Riding hood. This was a great story that the children enjoyed and liked to write about.

This is 2 weeks (9 lessons) of English activities for my lower ability set. All book pictures are there for each lesson. They are in publisher format and PDF. There are additional pictures for books and display for making marmalade sandwiches instructions(that are not in the plans).

I used this recently to train student teachers in delivering multi-sensory phonics activities. The word document is just a preview.

Begin with what do children already know about pirates. Then 6 pictures to write sentences about and label a pirate leading to sentences. If I was a pirate as an independent write. Finally a writing a wanted poster. Picture to be stuck in books and children to draw their pirate and then complete the writing.

Phase 3 and 5 sound pictures to use for an indoor or outdoor sound hunt. Phase 3 pictures also has an A3 snakes and ladders game. Both come with a spelling sheet to be given to each child to spell the words. There are 4 pics per A3 sheet. Word document is just a preview.

With a winter story theme this is a 4 day plan and activities for the Dinosaur that pooped Christmas. I have looked at the character of the dinosaur, compared it to the dinosaur that pooped a planet. There is a planning sheet and a mock book cover for a new story called the dinosaur that pooped winter. the children must plan and then write the story. There is a smaller book cover for the children to stick in their book when they write their own story.

This is a reading display that could be used in key stage 1 or 2. It has labels and then mounts to put book covers on to. The larger mount for the book that is currently being read and then smaller ones for books by the same author. It comes with the a title that can be cut however you choose. It also has bok basket labels and co-ordinating arrows.

A set of 6 pencils that can be printed up to A3. They are aimed at key stage 1 and set out some expectations.

The Phonics Olympic pack was used for children to practice for their Phonics Olympics at school. It was used on the run up to the phonics screening. I used this for year 2 pupils that are to retake the test but it would be suitable for year 1. The certificate was given to each child who took part. With the help of some little trophies from the pound shop this created lots of enthusiasm which was the aim! Word document for preview only. Publisher document is much better.

I have used these sheets to assess children's reading of sounds that they have been working on. It is also useful as evidence of reading in my children's phonics books. Covers phase 3 and 2 sheets of phase 4 words. Children to then read the word and match to the pictures. THIS IS A PUBLISHER FILE. This is in the Nelson handwriting font.

Phase 3 sounds with a picture and 3 choices of the correct word. Children must blend each word and tick the correct word. Encourages children to think about all sounds. Used as evidence of reading in books. This is a PUBLISHER document.

I used this to remind the children that it is important to think about all of the sounds they can hear. They enjoyed sorting the pictures and then finding the missing sounds. The missing sounds are a mixture of cvc words and the beginning of phase 3. THESE FILES ARE PUBLISHER DOCUMENTS!

A revision booklet aimed at year 2 Middle or lower ability. Could be sent home or used in class. Focus is on punctuation, correct word, past/present tense. The word document is just to give a preview.

Large pirates lettering for above the board and the title ‘Do you like argh writing?’ There are captions and a frame for either creating acptions or as a frame for writing to display.

Children used these to write nonsense words for phonics display. We also used these throughout KS1 to make packs for each class of all phase 3 and 5 sound nonsense words.
