This is a fun filled resource that will have your class excited to do math! Leprechaun gold has been stolen, the leprechauns are afraid it will be used for bad deeds! Your students must solve the math questions in order to find clues to who committed the crime. All answers are included for teachers. There are 5 pages of clues. Clue 1 - Perimeter of rectangles Clue 2 - Place Value Clue 3 - Addition and subtraction Clue 4 - Multiplication Clue 5 - Division Once students have solved the math mystery, they are given a writing exercise. There are two options. They can either write a newspaper article about the arrest of the thief and return of the gold; or write a story outlining how they caught the thief! Finally, a certificate is included for all those who solve the mystery.

This is a presentation using the angle family; Mr Obtuse, Mrs. Right, Baby Acute and Reflex Rex! It is a fun way to help students remember the different types of angles. The last slide contains a quick review of what they learned. The worksheet contains 6 different angles. The children must first name the angles. Then, estimate their size and finally measure them using a protractor. I would recommend using these resources with Year 4 or Year 5.

This Viking Quest is designed to be a cross-curricular link between humanities and maths. There are 30 word problems for the students to solve, covering addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. There are 3 rounds of questions which they must solve. Once they solve the questions they are given clues written in runes. They must solve these clues in order to stop a Viking attack on the Anglo-Saxons. All answers are provided as well as teacher instructions. Children can work independently or as part of a group. The questions are suited to a Year 4 or 5 class. My class absolutely love these puzzle and I hope your class will enjoy it too. I would love your feedback on this resource so please rate it!

This is a play script I used for a Year 4 class assembly. The theme is Persistence and is centered around authors, specifically Roald Dahl, J.K Rowling and Dr. Seuss. It is a perfect play to use for Book Week. The performance has a cast of 24 students (parts can be combined or split if needed). The play lasts around 30 minutes and includes two songs and a dance routine. The different roles gives opportunities to all students from the dramatic ones to the more reserved. I hope your class enjoys it as much as mine did!

This resource is to help practice area and perimeter of rectangles, squares and compound shapes. There are 2 posters on how to find area and perimeter and 3 worksheets which are differentiated. The LA worksheet is an exercise to find the perimeter and area of different rectangles, where the length of the sides are already given. The MA worksheet requires students to first measure the sides and then use this to find the area and perimeter. The HA worksheet requires students to find the area of compounds shapes. They first have to find the length of the missing sides.

The quizzes cover different strands. I find these questions especially good as an extension, a pop quiz, EMA activity or to use one or two at the beginning or end of a lesson.
