A word search puzzle worksheet featuring vocabulary related to St Patrick’s Day. Use this to introduce vocab or as a treat for early finishers. Kids love puzzles; and word searches are a great way to improve spelling while having fun. There are 20 vocabulary words to find in this activity and they might be found in any direction including backwards. This means it is fairly challenging so it should keep puzzlers busy for a while. The works included are: Ireland, Christianity, clover, parade, rainbow, emerald, Patrick, shamrock, snakes, leprechaun, gold, saint, Irish, March, green, seventeen, luck, shoemaker, Celts, top hat.

This is a presentation using the angle family; Mr Obtuse, Mrs. Right, Baby Acute and Reflex Rex! It is a fun way to help students remember the different types of angles. The last slide contains a quick review of what they learned. The worksheet contains 6 different angles. The children must first name the angles. Then, estimate their size and finally measure them using a protractor. I would recommend using these resources with Year 4 or Year 5.

This is a topic evaluation for Science and Humanities. It gives students a chance to reflect on their learning at the end of a unit. It is suited for KS2.

This Viking Quest is designed to be a cross-curricular link between humanities and maths. There are 30 word problems for the students to solve, covering addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. There are 3 rounds of questions which they must solve. Once they solve the questions they are given clues written in runes. They must solve these clues in order to stop a Viking attack on the Anglo-Saxons. All answers are provided as well as teacher instructions. Children can work independently or as part of a group. The questions are suited to a Year 4 or 5 class. This is a play script I used for a Year 4 class assembly. The theme is Persistence and is centered around authors, specifically Roald Dahl, J.K Rowling and Dr. Seuss. It is a perfect play to use for Book Week. The performance has a cast of 24 students (parts can be combined or split if needed). The play lasts around 30 minutes and includes two songs and a dance routine. The different roles gives opportunities to all students from the dramatic ones to the more reserved. I hope your class enjoys it as much as mine did!

This resource is to help practice area and perimeter of rectangles, squares and compound shapes. There are 2 posters on how to find area and perimeter and 3 worksheets which are differentiated. The LA worksheet is an exercise to find the perimeter and area of different rectangles, where the length of the sides are already given. The MA worksheet requires students to first measure the sides and then use this to find the area and perimeter. The HA worksheet requires students to find the area of compounds shapes. They first have to find the length of the missing sides.

Here are three differentiated sheets for area and perimeter. Children must use their knowledge of area and perimeter to complete the tables. Sheets are colour coded. Green is LA, orange is MA and red is HA. These are suited for Year 4 or 5 students. All answers are included.

This is a collection of word problems aimed at students in Year 4-6. (High ability group for Year 4). There are eight quizzes included each with five questions. All answers are included. The quizzes cover different strands. The topics covered are as follows: Fractions of money Fractions of amounts Time problems Money money problems Perimeter and area Subtraction and addition multiple step problems Ordering fractions and decimals The questions vary in difficult but are sure to keep the class busy. I find these questions especially good as an extension, a pop quiz, EMA activity or to use one or two at the beginning or end of a lesson.

This presentation was used in a year 4 assembly but could also be used in class. It contains pictures and videos in order to help the children imagine what London was like during the Blitz in WWII.

This resource contains a presentation explaining how to read the time to the nearest hour on an analogue clock. It also contains an exercise with pictures of clocks to the nearest hour.
