Each sheet asks students to plan a list of powerful vocabulary (challenge to find synonyms to improve their vocab choices), a list of language devices and a list of the senses. Lesson is aimed at developing students’ understanding of the General Election. Lesson looks at the history of voting, what happens in a General Election, who the main parties and leaders are & what the main pledges of each party are. Students have a choice of tasks based on speech writing. They can either write a speech arguing that the voting age should be 16 or write a speech arguing which political party should be in power.
