These are Key Stage 2 Winter Reading Comprehension Worksheets that include a range of non-fiction winter texts for KS2, whilst also giving you a selection of winter reading comprehension activities. Each winter reading passage has a nonfiction reading text, followed by four comprehension questions, covering a range of reading strategies. There are then three reading activities, which can be used with any of the passages. Passages are: It’s a Snow Day! How to Make Your Own Paper Snowflake A Day in the Life of a Snow Plough Driver What’s included? 5 non-fiction winter themed passages - one poem, one set of instructions, two explanatory texts and a day in the life diary 20 reading comprehension questions - include questions on main idea and key details, quoting accurately from the text and vocabulary questions 3 reading comprehension activities - these can be used with any of the passages. There’s a comparison worksheet, a vocabulary worksheets and a main idea and key details worksheet Your class will enjoy the variety of passages and tasks. There is plenty to keep them busy, as they work through the questions and activities. The passages and activities could be printed out and given to pupils as a pack. This would make it perfect for a sub teacher day. There’s not much to prepare… All you need to do is print the sheets out and hand to students!
