They start with gametes, zygotes, ovum, sperm, fertilisation, homologous chromosomes, haploid and diploid numbers. Second ppt covers meiosis (stages, key terms, chiasmata, bivalents, crossing over, independent segregation, first and second division, etc. It finishes with different life cycles with diploid and haploid numbers. This resource contains 2 popular sheets I use with my KS3 students to teach them about the "Burning triangle". The second sheet can be used as a homework, extension, revision or as a class test. I also used it with my SEN class and GCSE Foundation students who found they could access the material because it is colourful, easy to read, and some fill in the gaps gives differentiation.

This power point is a nice introduction to the OCR Gateway Drugs unit about the effects of smoking on the body. It shows the carcinogens found in cigarettes and how they affect the body. Gruesome pictures will make the students think about the problems - beware squeamish students.

There are story boards (formation of crude oil), and easy worksheets with "fill in the gaps" . These worked brilliantly with my low ability BTec group, but I also used them as starters and plenarys for my Foundation GCSE Chemistry group. Fun and easy to follow and complete.
