This resource consists of two series of 20 phrases with 2 Common Grammar mistakes in each sentence. First part is a series of 20 Foundation phrases and second part is series of 20 Higher Level sentences. Mistakes can be on conjugation, adjectival agreement, gender, prepositions. Students have to identify the mistakes and correct it. I compiled this list of mistakes from the essays of my students. Also incuded at the end are 5 Sentences to Translate from English to French for early finishers. This is suitable for both Foundation & Higher Tier students as there’s a mixture of easy and complex sentences The sentences cover the five main topics and are taken from mistakes I have seen in students productions. This activity lasts around 1 hour with the corrections and can be used as a diagnostic activity to check pupils grammatical knowledge.

Here is a fun ressource by a Youtuber about the challenges of new technologies faced by the people over 50’s. Cyprien’s video has subtitles, so it helps understanding. The attached comprehension exercise is suitable for A Level students and can be a starting point for generating a devbate on the advantages and disadvantages of new technology.

This resource consists of 11 Video questionnaires aimed at HIGHER GCSE/ but are also suitable for As students as some of the topics cover the programme. The questionnaires are compiled in a Word doc and each questionnaire is made of 4 to 6 comprehension activities. Transcripts & answers to each questionnaire are provided on the next page. It should take between 20 and 45 mn to complete an activity. I came up with this idea of video activities because GCSE textbooks rarely provide videos to illustrate a topic. My students found these useful to reinforce the vocab seen in class and enjoyed watching some “real people speaking real French” as the videos are authentic and show French speaking people in real life. Questionnaires can be done in class or at home if you are into “flipped learning”

Attached is a collection of 10 authentic articles, slightly adapted, from various newspapers dealing with a range A Level topics. These Reading activities can be given to students as self-study material or homework. Each article is between 600 and 800 words. It also offers good practice for the Summary Task and Reading skills Students are asked to summarize the article and explain the words in bold. You can also use them as a starter for discussion or for a Comprehension Task.
