Third Grade Math Fall Scavenger Hunt FREE!!!

This is a FUN way for students to work on Common Core Math Standards (word problems: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)! Directions: Cut and laminate (if desired) all cards and pumpkins. I like to either print them on card stock, or back them with construction paper. Glue a pumpkin onto each card. Pass out each student an answer/work sheet. Then, place the cards in the classroom or the hallway. You can place them on chairs in your room, along the walls, on the board, on desks, etc. I have always done this activity in the hallway. Students use a book or clip board and walk around in teams searching for the pumpkins and then working out each problem. Some classes have even done a full scale scavenger hunt around the school searching for them. Choose what works best for your school and class. I also tell my students that all partners/group members must show their work on the recording sheet. Students have a blast and are still working hard on Common Core math with this activity. All problems are aligned to Third Grade Common Core Standards. ENJOY!

4th grade Reading Language Arts EASTER Review Egg Hunt

(0)
Are you looking for a fun, exciting way to review for your upcoming state standardized test? Students never get tired of an egg hunt, and this is not only fun for students, but keeps them engaged and also helps them to review Common Core 4th Grade Language Arts and Reading standards. The standards that are included are located on the second page of the packet and can be viewed in the preview. I have completed this activity with fourth grade students, and not only have they learned a lot, but it was a great review and a great teaching tool when we reviewed all of the questions after the hunt was over. Materials needed: You will need 28 plastic Easter eggs to display around the classroom. This can also be used as a Scoot activity if you do not have the Easter eggs. Set up: You will first cut each card and fold it and place in an egg. Then, you will hide the eggs around the classroom, school, or a designated outside area. Directions: You will provide each student with an answer sheet. Then, you will allow students to roam around the designated area looking for eggs. Tips to Remember: Remind students that there should only be one person at an egg at a time. Students must read the egg, answer the question, and then place the question back into the egg. If you are working in partners, students must stay together at all times. There should not be more than one team member at a different egg. Everyone should be working at the same egg. Students should not just work quickly. They should read carefully and take their time. I remind students that it is not about how many eggs they find, but how many answers they get correct! I usually bring all students a treat of some sort, and you can have an extra treat for the “egg winner.” Remind students that there is No Running during the hunt. Finally, HAVE FUN! This should be a fun activity for the students as well as the teacher. Enjoy!

This is a resource packet full of 100+ pages of morning work/daily work/homework. It was designed using fourth grade common core standards and designed to be used during the 1st and 2nd quarters based on the Curriculum pacing guide. It is 100% aligned to the Common Core Standards. There are 16 weeks worth of work. This is an amazing way to have a quick preparation for you standardized test. These resources are a great review and each week focuses on the same skills in reading and math. This was designed so that every Friday or fifth day could be a formative assessment to see what your students have mastered or what they might need more work on. This daily work is effective and a great cumulative review before any standardized test. For example, there will be four specific standards in language and four specific standards in math in each week. Every day will be a question for students to answer in regard to each standard. The way it is used in my personal classroom is that we review the morning work together Mon-Thurs. On Friday, I will take them up. This gives me a wonderful idea a to which students have mastered or need work on each of the standards. Friday’s morning work can either be used as a grade, or just as an observation to know where students are with each standard.
