Months of the Year Game -FRENCH

Printable game board to teach the months of the year. Students roll a die and move the appropriate number of spaces. If they translate the French month correctly, they stay on the spot. If they get it wrong, they move back to where they started. The first person to arrive at the New Year wins! Note: I use Sorry or Monopoly game pieces with my students. Variations: *Have the students move back one space (or x spaces) from where they landed if wrong or forward one space if right. *Take an extra turn if you land on the current month and answer correctly. *For older students, have them use the word in a French sentence (September is the 9th month. My birthday is in May.).

This pdf file is designed to be printed on Avery 5371 business card paper, but can be printed on any card stock and cut out. Print two copies to create an easy memory matching game and laminate for added durability. As the students turn over a card, they should say each number in the target language (French vocabulary is at the top, Spanish at the bottom, and the numeral is in the center). The student that makes the most pairs wins. Variation, the cards can also be used to play "Go Fish," allowing more opportunities for the students to practice saying the numbers and recognizing how the visual numerals match to the words they hear.

Days of the Week Flashcards & Wheel [FRENCH only]

(0)
Flashcards of the days of the week in French. Weekdays have a chalkboard, and weekends have a house to help young children begin to understand the days of the week, while also learning the foreign language vocabulary. The Flashcards can be used for sorting, games, or even displayed in your calendar area. The days of the week wheels duplicate chalkboard and house images to give consistency to lessons while teaching yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Finally, this resource includes a few 1x1 images of the chalkboard and house that can be used to create your own additional resources. I suggest printing the Flashcards and wheels on white cardstock. The pages containing the bases for the wheels should be printed on colored cardstock for contrast. When cutting out the flashcards allow about 1/2-3/4 inch of space on top and bottom. Laminate everything for added durability.

The player with the most pairs wins. The title cards at the end of the document, can be glued to the backs of the month/season cards to make them sturdier (laminating is also recommended).
