Hi! I currently work in London as a Deputy Headteacher. I love all things teaching and learning! I am extremely passionate about education and find researching and creating new strategies and ideas exciting. The world of teaching and leading in England is highly stressful and it's up to all of us to look after each other's well-being...I hope my resources save you some precious time.

Exciting learning journey - create a leaflet on a famous person who inspires you

A great and exciting week long project, which enables pupils to create a fantastic leaflet and meet lots of objectives along the way. Created for primary but can easily be adapted for early secondary. Powerpoint follows the sequence: -Discuss who inspires the children and why -Set homework for pupils to research their chosen person or can be done in class. -Show model on Malala and discuss writing features. -Show children blank version and give them an opportunity to talk before writing. -Look at objectives together – how will pupils meet these? -Children create their leaflet. If there's time, they should self or peer-assess the leaflet and publish a final version. Other resources include: -Blank leaflet template -Model leaflet based on Malala Yousafzai - www.malala.org/malalas-story -An activity for EAL or LA attainers after they have heard the story of Malala -Blank planning sheet and model planning sheet If you do have any questions or need any support, please send me a message. *My resources always take me a lot of time and effort to create so I hope that they help to save you some precious time - please do review my resources. There is a link to a lovely story on Youtube and a quiz to ensure pupils were listening! The presentation can also be easily adapted for a lesson on Ramadan. Hamlet by Shakespeare cross-curricular activities - fun, engaging lessons - prize winning resources

I have recently won a TES prize for the creative teaching of Shakespeare. Here's what TES said: 'Hannah embraced the challenge of bringing Hamlet, Shakespeare’s longest play, to life in her KS2 classroom by adopting an original, cross-curricular approach. Featuring learning opportunities in and outside of the classroom, learners were fully immersed into this epic tragedy in every subject area and demonstrated their understanding in a variety of ways. From video retellings and word count pie charts to song writing and unique artistic interpretations, her teaching is the perfect example of how Shakespeare can be made accessible to pupils of all ages.' In this activity pack, there are ideas for 16 lessons and learning journeys. Many subjects are featured, including: Science, Maths, English, D&T, Art and more. The pack is made-up of resources, photos of when I did these activities with my class and planning. One of the 16 above is a cross-curricular learning journey for D&T and took us three weeks to complete - the children loved it! There are 46 pages in total. This was used with a Y5 class but can easily be adapted to support pupils from Y3 - Y8. The progress that my class made throughout this project was phenomenal! If you do have any questions or need any support, please send me a message. *My resources always take me a lot of time and effort to create so I hope that they help to save you some precious time - please do review my resources. English and History 2 Weeks Planning and Resource on Japan in WW2, the Atomic Bomb and Sadako Sasaki

This presentation contains planning and resources for 2 weeks of cross-curricular teaching on Japan's involvement in the Second World War. I followed this learning journey with my Y6 class and that were enthralled by the story. The presentation teaches children about Japan's involvement. Then asks them to focus on the Atomic Bomb and then more specifically on the story of Sadako Sasaki and the Thousand Peace Cranes - a sad yet inspiring story. Focus genres are timelines and autobiographies, with lots of opportunities to show viewpoint. If you do have any questions or need any support, please send me a message. A bright and visual presentation (great for an observation) for pupils to learn 8 parts of the body with their article (this is always important regardless of the age). The presentation takes pupils through learning the 'Kopf, Schultern, Knie und Zeh'n' song. To print the song, go to: www.goethe.de/resources/files/pdf41/Arbeitsblatt_Unit_8_1_KopfSchulternKnieundZehn.pdf If you do have any questions or need any support, please send me a message. *My resources always take me a lot of time and effort to create so I hope that they help to save you some precious time - please do review my resources. Sentence doctor - great grammar resource, asking pupils to repair sentences by correcting grammar

This was a great tool that I used with my class. It covers contractions, general punctuation , singular possession , plural possession , was/were and much/many. Pupils are taught about a particular aspect of grammar and then shown the slides on the IWB, which asks them to fix the sentences. Perfect for AFL and ensuring that they understand. The presentation is easy to adapt and you can quickly change the sentences to suit other grammar needs that you may have. There is also a blank activity sheet, which is perfect for typing in and sending home for homework once the pupils are familiar with hoe the game works. Pupils could also use this sheet to write their own incorrect sentences for a partner to fix! If you have any questions or need any support, send me a message and I'll do anything I can to help. Please do review any resources that you download - many thanks!
