This lesson ppt starts off with a recap task of AVO2 Diff, then goes on to explore the impacts of physical activity on an individual’s health including the following key areas: coronary heart disease (atheroma, atherosclerosis. angina) high blood pressure explained cholesterol explained (LDL AND HDL) strokes explained (ischaemic and haemorrhagic) There is also a link to a kahoot quiz that I have created that is a good progress check to see how much of the CV system your students have understood and learned!

Lesson objectives: To be able to explain how oxygen is transported to the working muscles during exercise. To be able to explain the factors that affect the dissociation of oxygen from haemoglobin during exercise. Oxyhaemoglobin dissassociation curve and bohr shift are covered in detail in this lesson powerpoint. Two separate graphs are also included to print for students notes.

Explain the physiological effects of drugs on the performer and their performance. Be aware of the positive and negative implications to the sport and the performer of drug taking.
