Write about our Planet Earth KS1

This resource supports KS1 children in thinking about Earth, the challenges faced and things we may be able to do to help. Sheet 1 shows the planet with some images added such as endangered animals and tree felling. Children can talk about these. They then write about some of the challenges and suggestions for how they can help. Younger children could write key words. The second sheet shows the planet with no images so that children can draw their own, paste into or write key words and phrases in the outline Earth. Again there is space for them to write about the challenges and how they can help.

4 Animals Labelling Sheets KS1 KS2

These sheets are black and white and duplicated in colour. There are 4 of each sheet showing a cow, sheep, pig and chicken. The idea is that children discuss each animal and their impact / effect on humans/humanity. E.g. For the chicken, children may say we benefit from having eggs and chicken to eat as well as soups and mayo. Older children may consider any negative impacts of eating meat or using fertilizer for example. The pictures around each animal give children starting points or clues for discussion and writing.

A fun way to talk about feelings with KS1 or KS2 pupils. This resource has a focus on 6 feelings: tired, lonely, sad, angry, mad and cross. Each letter used in the words has its own special face and facial features. Children aim to crack the code and then write their own words. Not all letters of the alphabet are included here, so children could make up their own faces to complete the alphabet. What do children notice about these words? Can they make up faces for different sets of feelings? Pages shows 6 word cards with a face for each letter shows the word cards - children add their own faces shows the faces - children crack the code and write the letters underneath the faces Shows all the faces used in the words. Chidren write in the letters that go with each face. An answer sheet to sheet 4 or colouring sheet where children can trace over the letters. Circles for children to practice drawing the faces or making up their own.
