Starter: pupils have some information to read and questions to answer. For lower ability the words are highlighted or for more able they are not. Main: pupils focus on Yellowstone national park and the effect of wolf extinction have on the ecosystems. This then goes on to look at a video about the reintroduction of wolves. Includes a small amount on graph work showing a predator-prey numbers link. Pupils then use edexcel worksheets to complete learning. Plenary: pupils sum up in 3 sentences

This is followed by an explanation of what they mean in a scientific context and the equations that relate to them. Some questions on the PowerPoint then test their understanding. Pupils then watch a short video on work done, energy and power in a golfing putt. They then try to relate what they have learned to a sport of their choice. I did this over two lessons as the practical took some time Starter- Simple starter naming types of energy Main: Brief discussion about non renewable energy and how power stations work then pupils used the edexcel worksheet to build a working turbine. I have also included some differentiated worksheets (A3 size) I used for a slightly different lesson which you may wish to adapt. In the second lesson We then looked at changing trend in fuel use. The graph on the powerpoints was printed off in colour and pupils answered questions off the powerpoint. Then pupils used the edexcel task sheets and tasks off the board to complete.
