All of my activities are created on an Acer Chromebook in a series of Posts on a Google Blog. I know nothing of computer coding but started with one piece of free coding and have been adapting that by incorporating additional free coding. They are created as TEMPLATES for online interactive resources. So, if you have a blog, or want to create one to try this concept out, simply copy and paste the text in the downloaded text file as a NEW POST and PUBLISH.

This is a PRACTISING activity. Homophones [completing sentences with pictures] [3]. This simple coding allows a picture to be dropped into a frame which makes up a row, the rest of the row being a series of words which make up a sentence, the picture representing the homophone. The coding allows this TEMPLATE to be used for any sentences to include a picture whether it be an English, science, history, geography topic or project. The original activity can be found at https://learnanytime-mycreations.blogspot.com/2023/11/homophones-completing-sentences-with_45.html The activities are meant to be fun, flexible and differentiated. They are meant to develop transferable skills and be cross curricular. As a result they hopefully reinforce small chunks of information and give a better understanding of a topic. I have sorted them into LEARNING, PRACTISING and TESTING activities and will add activities for each grouping if the concept works. Most of the activities are aimed at UK National Curriculum KS1 and KS2. learnanytime@gmail.com

15 visible pictures of homophones in a grid. As learners click on the 7 pairs they can find they disappear leaving one Odd One Out. Most of my activities are based around pictures as I am a visual learner. I created a set of screenshots from a series of video clips which included a picture, the name and the meaning of a series of homophones. With the second set I removed the title and with the third set I removed the meaning of the words. Leaving me with 3 sets of pictures [a], [b] and [c] providing an opportunity to create the same activity for 3 different levels of difficulty. I can create a download of all of the pictures used in this series of activities if required, just let me know. This is a PRACTISING activity. Homonyms [matching pictures] [6]. A simple activity of matching pictures which suggest homonyms. 20 pictures, 7 pairs and 6 remaining. The use of the recycle bin allows learners to see all of the pictures, disregard some but the facility to change their mind and “recycle” some if they need to.
