A lesson exploring the poem Exposure by Wilfred Owen. This lesson enables students to perform an in depth examination on the poem taken from the AQA Literature: Power and Conflict Anthology. This lesson includes: A Frayer Model examining the word Exposure, a reading of the poem, a copy of the poem ready for analysis, a model paragraph and question of focus to guide students and relevant contextual information about Wilfred Owen to include in comparative responses. Designed and used with mixed-ability KS4 in preparation for their AQA Literature Paper 2, this lesson contains all resources necessary and is ready to be delivered.

This resource contains three basic steps: step 1 define terminology, step 2 identify and analyse the use of adjectives and step 3 creation of an analytical response. All necessary resources are attached including structure strips and a differentiated handout of the extract. Successfully taught for an observation to a mixed ability Y7 but contains skills relevant for majority of KS3 and could be altered to be used with KS4 particularly AQA Language Paper 2 Q5.

A lesson examining and analysing a brief speech by Muhammed Ali. All resources required are attached in order to make it accessible for any member of staff to teach. The skills and activities included where designed and successfully taught to KS3 but could easily be differentiated to be delivered for AQA English Language P2 Q5: writing a non-fiction piece. The lesson is straight forward and focuses on identifying techniques used in a short Muhammed Ali speech.
