I have been a PE teacher for 9 years and my heart really lies in the theoretical aspect of examination courses. I have created some great GCSE and AS/A2 PE resources to download and use in class or as homework. These resources serve as a useful summary for revision purposes as well as an interactive way to build and consolidate learning. Cut down the amount of note-taking and download these fantastic and colourful booklets......why do all the work when someone has done it for you?!

Mr Wrong Lesson starter and plenary for SPOR/FITT training principles (OCR GCSE 2016 spec)

This starter is a great way to demonstrate progress when pupils are learning the principles of training. Ask the pupils to read the pupil sheet as a starter and to highlight the errors. They should do this at the start of the first lesson. The teacher sheet provides the answers and shows all the errors that pupils SHOULD highlight. At the end of the lesson, reintroduce the sheet and ask pupils to complete the starter activity again. Pupils should be able to highlight additional "wrong answers" and should be able to correct any that they got wrong in the starter. A fantastic way to demonstrate progress within a lesson and a very handy self assessment tool.

These work sheets contain step by step activities for pupils to investigate their cardiovascular responses to different exercise intensities. Heart rate monitors can be used for greater accuracy or manual pulse method used for 30 seconds after each activity has finished. The exercises can be adapted to suit the group or the facility and non-doers can help to time and record data. Lesson 1: Practical investigation and data collection. Lesson 2: Data interpretation. Pupils plot graphs, calculate HR %, compare their responses to training zones and explain why their cardiovascular system has responded in the way that it has. Great for group/paired work and leads nicely into the study of stroke volume and cardiac output. All responses are recorded on the work sheets. *Fantastic for cross-curricular numeracy!*
