It has a settling starter, learning objectives slide, a main starter, examples of the activity with notes to be copied into books, differentiated questions, an extra practice activity and a plenary I created this for an observation and got really good feedback These are the activities I have chosen for this lesson: Settling starter – parts of circles Starter – using string to find pi Extra practice activity – bingo Plenary – exit ticket All my lessons are set up in a similar way to allow consistency when teaching. They are also all graded based on the new 1 – 9 grading system. This is a full lesson based on 80 mins but could easily be altered for the length of your lessons. It has a settling starter for when students enter the room this is a multiplication grid for this lesson followed by the learning objectives slide. There is then a starter of shading fractions recapping from the previous lesson then matching them up to link to equivalent fractions. There are then a selection of examples for equivalent fractions and simplifying fractions. This is followed by a slide of steps and examples to copy into their books. It includes a slide of differentiated questions and a card trail activity. The plenary is an exit ticket activity.

The main starter is a match up activity expanding one bracket. This lesson includes a settler to get students started as soon as they enter the room. A starter checking understanding of factors and multiple. It then moves onto Highest Common Factor HCF and Lowest Common Multiple LCM, including a clear example and steps to success that they can put into their books. There are examples with differentiated questions and answers. There is then a card sort activity for anyone who needs more practice. Ending with exam style challenge questions in the plenary. All the slides are animated so that you can just click and it will go through everything, answers appear one at a time so you can get answers from specific students. It is planned with an hour and 20 min lesson in mind but you can remove parts of the activities if you need it shorter.
