The Sacraments/Prayer - confession
This lesson explores the sacrament of confession. It looks at the importance of the act of confession from an experiential perspective and draws on the a literary source to help students understand the complexities and importance of this form of prayer.
This lesson suitable for mid to high ability students. It will need differentiation for those less able.

The Sacraments
The four lessons included in this bundle cover the Christian sacraments. Lessons are focused on the sacraments of holy communion, ordination and confession but homework tasks cover baptism and death rites. The lessons include a range of activities, some of which are differentiated in order to support students in developing their knowledge and understanding of the importance of the sacraments. These lessons link to the new Edexcel GCSE syllabus.
Lamentations - Remembering the destruction of the Temple of Soloman
Students use a section of Lamentations to consider how important the destruction of Solomon’s Temple was in Jewish history/to Jewish identity. This is a creative lesson with a literary focus. It has differentiated resources and is SMSC driven.

These lessons explore Judaism through some of the major ancient Biblical events such as the founding of the covenant, the destruction of Soloman's Temple and the beginning of the Diaspora, through to more contemporary issues relating to stereotyping and antisemitism.
The lessons include a range of interactive tasks that help students to engage experientially with some of the key narratives of Jewish history and identity as an ethnic and religious group.
