Macbeth Exam Questions GCSE This resource contains ten specimen exam style essay questions on Macbeth, with extracts. They lend for perfect practice in the run up to mock exams and the 2021 real GCSEs. These questions in particular mimic the AQA exam board. However, they are also useful for other major exam boards covering the text.

I’ve used this resource with my GCSE English students studying Much Ado, covering the major themes of the play. Ideal as a revision resource, in the classroom, or as a prompt for essay questions. Inbuilt into this is context, language analysis ranging around the whole play, hitting all the assessment objectives required in the exam. Themes included: Social Class Honour Love Deception Nothing and Noting How is [theme] presented in the play?

11 Plus English Core Skills 11 Plus Foundation Course 11 Plus Summer Intensive Course Year 4 should be the least stressful part of the 11 Plus journey, in fact the student should only be spending 120 minutes maximum every week of doing work. Gradually the time spent on revision should increase, however it shouldn’t be labelled as a ‘chore’, make the transition as smooth as possible. In English it is important to keep on revisiting terms: grammar, punctuation, etc… It’s very easy to get quickly out of tune with SPaG. To have good creative writing skills, being able to tackle comprehension questions, verbal reasoning and more, you need to have the ‘English core skills’ Before advancing to formal English tests, it’s vital that the pupil has the knowledge and skills of basic English for the 11 Plus. English core skills is aimed to cover these topics so that the pupil can feel confident to move onto assessments. Note that this is ‘stage one’ of the foundation, so in the next stages the pupils will be introduced to ‘short’ and ‘long’ English tests. They will be prepared for this as they have gathered the skills from this book
