In my classroom I aim for the pupils to independently use the resources available to them in order for them to develop their skills at their own pace. These card are designed to be used with a Makey Makey board and a set of different classroom objects. They should be laminated when printed so thank the children can draw their ideas on them. Challenge pupils to come up with interesting and creative ideas without you having to prod them every step of the way!

I have created a set of 10 independent learning cards to be used with the program 2DIY. These are designed for pupils to pick up and explore on their own to develop their own creative programming skills. The cards are designed to be a stimulus for pupils to create their own game depending on their skills. I have also included the blank original in the same styling so you can make your own to add to the collection! Please review and share!

5 different lesson ideas all based around the theme of cryptography and code breaking. I've seen lots of stuff for secondary pupils on this topic, but nothing for primary, so I thought I'd give it a go! This could easily be adapted for KS3 as well too though! The last PPT on steganography needs you to download a little exe application on the computer, so make sure you've done that before the start of the lesson! Please review and give me some feedback as I'd love to add to it and expand on this. The lessons are all on PPT, and then the guides are little sheets for the pupils to use in the lessons to help them. This can be a really fun topic so I hope they come in handy!

As a little pack for you to download I have put together all of the Google Sketchup models I have used and demonstrated with the pupils. Some are simple, others get tricky, but perfect for giving pupils examples of builds, or some work to adapt and manipulate! Also perfect for schools with a 3d printer, give your pupils goals to print to!

I have used these progression sheets and data charts and shared them with other schools I work with, and it has proven popular. I have gone through the computing curriculum, picking out key skills, and assigning them to to an age range. Having this guide of where your pupils should be at can prove invaluable to non-computing teaching staff in a primary school. It also gives a rough indicator of the type of program or software pupils could be using to get to this skill set. I also still hold much value to the digital literacy skills pupils were taught under the old ICT curriculum. This is why I have included a progression sheet for this too. PowerPoint, with activity cards, taking pupils through databases and how they work. I've included the picture of the aliens I've used for display purposes. The lesson goes through how we split a database into records and fields.

A quick introduction to Google Sketchup, with pupils creating a model of a viking Longhouse. Work is set over a period of 5 weeks, with each lesson adding a step and feature. Variety of skills used. Finally managed to work out how to upload Sketchup files so it comes with 2 models. One is a step by step guide, the other is an example. This is perfect for any schools with a 3D Printer!!
