This unit uses listening, composing, and arranging tasks and comes with grading rubrics for composing and arranging tasks. Based upon what they have learned, students will then attempt to arrange their own piece of music based on this four-chord progression. Depending on how much time you allow for composition and performance tasks, this unit could last from 6 to 12 lessons. ** You will need to have previously downloaded software that will allow for either recording or note-entry and layering effects to make full use of this unit. **

There are 8 pages of vocabulary defining words that are often used to describe structure, harmony, melody, rhythm, dynamics, articulation, tempo, texture, instruments, music history, and music technology. The same 8 pages are then copied for you twice to make this as adaptable to your lessons as possible; once with the terminology and no definitions and once with neither words or definitions. Hopefully, you find this as useful as I have for reinforcing music terminology.
