LEARNING RHYTHMIC PATTERNS - 1/2 BEATS POWER POINT (Little Kids Rock)

I have built this powerpoint using the 1/2 beat rhythms from ‘Little Kids Rock’. It is really great for engaging students with a mindful rhythm activity of counting, then counting and clapping, then clapping the rhythms. It builds confidence and knowledge in understanding how to use and create rhythms. It is even more enjoyable when used with a ‘style’ or pop music to help the tempo stay steady. I have inserted a simple guide to notation above the number of beats to introduce students to the concept of written notation. I highly recommend giving this a go with your key stage 2 and 3 classes.

This has more choice than my ‘basic’ rhythm creator worksheet and provides differentiation for the classroom. This is purposefully missing a time signatures section to avoid confusion. Teachers can direct students on which time signatures to use as and when they teach them.
