Lesson looking at life in ancient Rome. The lesson focuses on the benefits and drawbacks of living in the city of Rome, the starter and plenary allow evaluation of what presumptions/knowledge pupils have on Rome, and how this changes throughout the lesson. There is also time for discussion, pair work and a homework task. All resources needed are included.

The main focus of the lesson is watching the first half of a very useful documentary, which gives a full account on the events leading up to, during and after Becket’s murder. Pupils watch the documentary and answer a series of questions.
