The PowerPoint and attached documents are a series of worksheets covering the basics of plot, character and theme as students work through the reading of the play. All questions on the worksheets are differentiated for lower ability students and have prompts to help them complete tasks independently. There is a sheet for Mr Birling’s opening speech, each character’s story and the final speech by the Inspector. The sheets can be printed for students directly from the PowerPoint. My class loved these, so happy to share!

This is a resource containing advanced sentence starters, a list of language and structural features, ambitious vocabulary and essay writing terminology for students aiming for a grade 9. This resource has been designed to print double sided for students to have handy in lessons to encourage high quality essay writing.

Included is a PowerPoint file for four lessons on the theme of Status in Othello, designed for the Edexcel A Level specification but could be easily adapted to fit other exam boards. Lessons include context, key quotes and passages, analysis of writer’s craft and critique. Model paragraphs included and guidance for an exam question. I used these lessons over the course of a week with my class to comprehensively cover the theme of Status in Othello. This resource could be used as lessons, but also given to students to help structure independent revision in the lead up to assessments.

A four week scheme of work made of five lessons a week desgined for Edexcel English Langauge and general English Language skills. For a mix of abilities and split into weekly topics of Titanic, space exploration, fiction and the Underground Railroad. Attached is also the extract booklet used to support lessons.
