Paper 2 revision pack for A Level English Language. A range of questions focusing on all Paper 2 topics such as: World Englishes, Accent and Dialect, Social Groups, Gender, Occupation, Language Change, Ethnicity. The pack has 43 questions in total including a range of Section A discursive questions, also question 3 and question 4 questions across the range of Paper 2 topics. There are also self-review/ reflection activities at the start for students to review their progress. The pack also includes a range of scaffolds for each question, including the AQA mark schemes for students to self review.

Full SOW for accent and dialect - this would usually take 6-8 weeks, taught 3 hours a week, with assessment time included. Covers all skills and terminology required for students. There is a homework booklet attached too and we usually get students to complete article review homework tasks as additional homework tasks to allow them to recognise the style of writing that they need to adopt for opinion articles (the articles themselves aren’t included but the review sheet is). This SOW covers case studies on a range of accents/dialects such as geordie, Yorkshire, Scottish dialects, Standard English. There are scaffolds to help to support students with writing in all 3 question styles and a range of exemplars to exemplify the appropriate writing style too. There are a range of video clips to help students to recognise the different dialects and the way they sound.

This is a lesson to support students with their first few lessons of the NEA focusing on the Language Investigation. It goes through what it is and ideas for further research, plus topic suggestions. Informs students how to set out their investigation and gives some exemplars from previous students.

These are scaffolds used with both mid ability and low ability GCSE classes to help to explore key quotes in the poems and also to check students’ rudimentary understanding of the main parts of the poems. Could also be used as independent revision resources.

This is an introductory unit for Year 12 English Language, which covers all frameworks such as: graphology, lexis and semantics, grammar and syntax, phonetics and phonology, discourse, pragmatics, as well as an introduction to genre, audience, purpose, representation and context. There are lessons for each framework and a homework booklet which corresponds with the lessons too. Could be used as the first unit in Year 12 and encourages students to see the bigger picture to improve context through some of the text choices.

This is a comprehensive document to help support students through the English Language NEA Investigation. It includes a range of advice on how to get started and suggestions for students of topics. It tells students how it should be set out and gives advice for each section. There are also some good examples of some sections included to demonstrate how to write the investigation too. The resource could be printed for students to use and it has proven beneficial to those students embarking on their NEA for the first time.

A full sow covering the occupation topic for Paper 2 English Language. Comprehensive SOW which covers the concepts of ethnicity in language, looking at MLE, ‘Jafaican’, grime music, etc and whether of not ethnicity can impact people’s language. Contains lessons covering all of the ares in Paper 2 and contains exemplars and assessments that could be used to check progress. A comprehensive SOW for AQA Paper One - CLA writing. This covers all aspects of accuracy vs creativity. Has a hwk booklet and various texts to analyse included. Updated this year to take into consideration examination feedback.

Focusing on Section A of Paper One, ten different resources to use in lessons or could be used as a homework resource. Multiple pairs included, one historical text and one contemporary, across a variety of different topics. Included are also scaffolds for each question to help to support the analysis process; these have been used in lessons with my A Level students and have proven successful.
