Lesson for a top set year 9 group, can easily be adapted for higher or lower ability! Includes, progress checks and teach your partner section. For set 1 I gave them blank pieces of card for the progress check but have included progress check cards with keywords on that just need to be put in order which I've used with a lower ability group. I got pupils into groups and got them to model lungs using straws, cocktail sticks and raisins. The fastest group to create the most accurate model! It worked really well! When explaining gas exchange in our bodies I got pupils to volunteer and gave them signs saying 'lungs&', &';heart', &'red blood cell&';, 'oxygen&' etc. and got them to act it out as I explained it!
