A Level Chemistry OCR A- 4.1.1 Lesson 3- Different Functional Groups Lesson that teaches pupils how the different functional groups are named and how to draw them. Includes entire lesson, worksheets, activities and homework.

Lesson on the two methods used to produce ethanol. I got the students to make their own ethanol and I distilled it in a later lesson. Has a nice debate at the end too, as to which method they think would be the best for BP to use if they started using biofuels! Enjoy :)

This is the first lesson I used in an electricity topic for a mixed ability year 7 set :)! Hope it's useful!

Horse meat is the hot topic at the moment, so I used this for half of one of my lessons to discuss how Science is linked with this scandal! Students got a character card and had to take on that role and their opinion as to whether all meat should be tested or not. Worked BRILLIANTLY, had some excellent high level discussion! I used it with year 8 but I think it's suitable for all age groups with adaptions!
