A list of questions on the harmony and themes of the Symphony of Psalms: Stravinsky. Cut up each sentence and students find the answer for the question. The amount of points per question determines the difficulty of the question. No answers are provided so students have to show you the answer or prove the answer. Can be used for other elements of the Stravinsky or other elements of the other set works.

A mix of Indian Music activities - the instrument pictures can be used as a puzzle, cut them up and students stick back together. Students can work out instrument by descriptor and the final document is useful to differentiate between elements of each performance such as instruments/rag used. A 'Call My Bluff' of Buckley key terms - there are three definitions of certain key terms in Grace. Pupils work out which is the best fit. There are some definitions that pupils can discount straight away; e.g. EQ is not ET's cousin. Other key terms can be used. Useful for a starter for Grace and could be used for a revision aid if the options are harder to discern the difference between.

This is a fun game as part of the end of a lesson or start to look at composers with KS3. Pupils have to work out the composer/band/singer from pictures e.g. the example is a picture of a door handle; from there the pupils 'say what they see' and work out it's Handel. Useful for improving numeracy of students; task is to count the amount of accents, find the bar of a certain word, count the beats of a certain syllable etc. Handy to use as a starter to introduce the new work. Lots of other items can be added.
