KS3 Division Wheel 3 Worksheets with Answers, Starter

(2)
This resource is great for revising knowledge on division, practise ‘bus stop method’ or to be used as a quick numeracy starter. The idea is you start at the top of the division wheel, and as you move vertically down the sheet you are given numbers that are smaller than the original number. Therefore, the aim of the student is to work out what they need to divide by in order to get from the original number to the new number. There are 8 division problems per worksheet, and each worksheet is compact such that three copies of each worksheet fit on one side of A4. All of the numbers fit together in a circular pattern or a wheel. Please review if you found helpful :). Buy my addition pyramid book: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BLR1ZBR1/ref=sr_1_1?crid=23R16YIGJOLWA&keywords=addition+pyramids+katie+rowlands&qid=1668020408&sprefix=addition+pyramids+katie+rowland%2Caps%2C185&sr=8-1 An infinite number of problems generated just by clicking the ‘new worksheet’ tab. This excel document contains 5 tabs. An easy worksheet, hard worksheet, answer tab, new worksheet tab and a blank grid tab (the latter useful for printing out blank grids). Both the easy and hard worksheet have 10 problems each. The first 5 problems are solely involving positive numbers when adding from the bottom of the pyramid upwards. The 6th problem involves decimals. The 7th, 8th and 9th involving negative numbers, with the 9th dealing with smaller negative numbers. Finally the 10th problem involves both negative numbers and decimals. However, you can just print off any given number of problems, meaning that you can differntiate the quantity of quesitons required easily. The hard worksheet involves the same pyramid as the easy worksheet, however, instead of having to solely add from the bottom of the pyramid, and work your way upwards, you have work down and up through the pyramid using both subtraction and addition. To generate an infinte number of worksheets simply press the ‘new worksheet’ button. EASY. Please leave a review if you found helpful :D. This resource comes with EIGHT different times tables grids which you need to fill out the missing entries. There are both smaller grids (6x6) and larger grids (12x12) which involve a variety of differentiated problems. Some of the grids have row and column headings, whereas other involve a challenge to work out what the row and column headings are. Great way to revise times tables, or a settler in a lesson. The challenge problems involve loads of other sub topics, such as deducing ‘factors’, ‘solving equations’ and more. Please review if you found helpful. Standard form function machine style worksheet, 4 worksheets, Matching Solutions

(1)
This is a free sample of my function machine style resource, specifically for standard form. There is a choice of 4 worksheets (2 easy and 2 hard). Each pair of easy and hard worksheets have matching solutions. The easy worksheet just has numbers in the input grid [the red grid in the centre of the page], wheras the hared worksheet just has numbers in the output grids [the four green grids on the outskirts of the worksheet]. The worksheet is easy and intuitive to use: starting with an ‘input’ number you need to apply an operation [listed below the green grids] to deduce an output. This process is repeated for 9 different numbers, for four diferent output grids altogether, yielding 36 solutions. If you liked this resource how about buying the generator version of this? https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/standard-form-starter-last-minute-maths-colourful-differentiated-worksheets-solutions-11850320 Or a bundle of 4 resources. https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/starter-maths-bundle-function-machine-worksheets-number-pc-fractions-and-more-solutions-11692992 Please review if you found this useful :D.

KS2 KS3 KS4 Times Table / Multiplication Grid Generator, Easy to Challenging, Solutions, Easy print

Buy here: https://sowl.co/btzuAT This is a massive 14 tab excel spreadsheet. It contains: Two tabs of blank worksheets (multiple on a page). This is particularly useful for a last minute, ready to go starter. For example, if you have these ready and printed, you can generate one of the sheets on the whiteboard, and students can copy the appropriate numbers into the blank grid in order to deduce all of the blank numbers. One tab is for 6x6 grids (quicker starter/worksheet), other tab is for 12 x 12 grids Two tabs of 12x12 grids including repetition within the rows and / or columns. These grids are great at building students confidence, due to the repetition. One sheet is the questions, the other sheet is the answers. Five tabs of 12x12 grids WITHOUT repetition within the rows and/or columns. This means students are tested on all the times table within one worksheet or starter activity. One tab has column and row headers, but doesn’t have any content within the grid itself. The next three tabs are in varying difficulty level: easy, medium, and hard [easy has lots of the numbers within the grid itself already filled out, whereas hard has hardly any numbers]. The last tab is the answers. Three tabs of 6x6 grids WITHOUT repetition within the rows and/or columns. The first tab just contains a grid with NO numbers within the main grid itself. The second tab, my favourite, includes no row or column headers, therefore students have a challenging worksheet, and need to work out through logic to deduce the column and row headers. In some instances there may seem like there is more than one option for the row or column headers, so students need to deduce what is the only correct answer (like sudoku). This second tab, also involves row and column totals to incorporate the topic solving equations. The third tab is the solutions. What is great about the 6x6 grids and the 12x12 grids is that the first 6 rows and columns of the 12x12 grid, have exactly the same solutions as the 6x6 grid itself. One tab of solutions for BOTH of the sheets. This excel spreadsheet has been formatted so that ALL of the worksheets can be deduced form the same 12x12 grid. This is great in order to differentiate effectively. BONUS new worksheet tab. This is great because at a click of this button, or via F9 you can easily generate an infinite number of worksheets. Trigonometry Worksheet Generator given ONE SIDE AND ONE ANGLE, infinite worksheets

(0)
This is a worksheet generator for deducing a missing length of a right angle triangle, given the length of one side and the size of one angle. The worksheet is set up in a way such that all of the variables used in each of the questions are completely unique to the questions. Additionally, there is a variety of different units used within these questions (both metric and imperial) in order to create variety). By the click of a button, such as ‘F9’ or by clicking on the tab which says ‘new worksheet’ and then clicking on the ‘new worksheet’ button a whole new worksheet is generated with matching answers. The answers are given in two forms: unrounded answers, and answers rounded to one decimal place. Every time you generate a new worksheet the variables for each question, unit of measurement and type of problem will differ. This worksheet is great to measure progress over a few lessons, and demonstrate practise makes perfect. Problems include sin, cos, and tan, as well as finding the a variety of missing sides, including the hypotenuse, adjacent and opposite side.

Subtraction Worksheet Bundle for Subtracting 2, 3 and 4 digits all problems involving borrowing

(0)
This is an excel spreadsheet which can generate an infinite number of questions involving subtraction. This exercise is particularly suitable for those who need practice with borrowing when subtracting, as every single problem requires you to do this. There are 9 tabs included within this resources, including the subtraction of 2 digits, 3 digits, and 4 digits (or subtraction of numbers in the tens, hundreds and thousands), alongside this are matching answers. Subtraction often involves borrowing ‘from the next door neighbour’ and this drill helps build in practice with the importance of getting this skill correct. I have used this with bottom set year 9s to build their confidence with the operation of subtraction. Please review this resource if you found helpful :)

Function Machine Style Worksheets for Percentages of Amounts, Differentiated, Engaging, Solutions
skierkrowlandsskierkrowlands

Function Machine Style Worksheets for Percentages of Amounts, Differentiated, Engaging, Solutions

(1)
This is a choice of 4 different worksheets testing on the topic of percentages of amounts, through the mode of a function machine. Two of the worksheet are ‘Easy Questions’ whereas the other two worksheets are 'Hard Questions. For the easy questions students start with with a red grid in the central of the worksheet containing 9 different numbers, which is the input. They then need to find a percentage of all 9 of these numbers, such as finding ‘20%’ of the original numbers, obtaining an output number. This process is repeated four times, for four differing percentages which are both greater and smaller than 100%. The difficult worksheets differently start with output numbers, so students need to understand how to reverse the process, and to be able to divide by a multiplier ratehr than multiply by the multiplier. A resource which is ‘ready to go’, and both the easy and difficult worksheets are linked usefully by the same solutions. Please leave a review if you found this helpful. Simultaneous Equations Worksheet, Linear / Quadratic, 3 Levels Difficulty, Differentiated, Answers

(1)
This is a worksheet including 18 simultaneous equations questions for linear and quadratic equations. This is a differentiated resource containing three levels of difficulty. Section 1 only has the variables ‘a’ and ‘b’, and for all 6 questions, a few decimal answers and a matching coefficient in each pair of eqautions. Section 2 has varying variables and unmatching coefficients. Whereas section 3 involves quadratic and linear equation, which touches on the topics ‘changing the subject of the formula’, ‘substitution’, ‘expanding brackets’, ‘factorising’ and ‘solving’. All three questions make this topic more interesting because of the use of ‘negative numbers’ as answers, as well as understanding the importance of the relationship between different signs. Improper and Proper Fractions of an Integer, with solutions, Differentiated, Starter or Plenary

(1)
Ideal starter for KS3, although could be used for younger or older as differentiation available. The general concept has been derived from a function machine. You start with 9 input numbers, which needs to go through an operation. The operation for this specific function machine is to find fractions of amounts. So you need to find five sixths of 30 for example. There are a total of four operations so there up to 36 answers students need to find. Working alongside this is a more challenging sheet, which involves the students using the ‘output’ numbers first to work out the ‘input’ numbers, and hence understanding the importance of working backwards through the operations. Most importantly, both the basic style worksheet and the challenging worksheet work in conjunction with each other, such that they both link to the same solutions, which are provided. The picture provided demonstrates the answers to one of the potential worksheets. Has been used many times successfully within classrooms for year 7s, 8s, and year 9s. A whole lesson I designed for an interview lesson for an year 5 independent school. A great visual way for introducing students into the topic of multiplying fractions. This lesson specifically focuses on multiplying proper fractions with whole numbers. The most engaging part of this lesson is the gifs used during the lesson, and the opportunity for students to really master the topic through the use of pictures. Slideshow is 35 slides long and includes a kinaestetic starter, a kinaestetic group activity, several examples, main worksheet, ‘pit stops’, timers, solutions, audio bites and a plenary.
