this is to help students building up confidence to write and speak using connectives and various tenses on the topic of healthy lifestyles.

I designed this to go with Studio 2 Module 2 ( Rouge ) and this reinforces the vocabulary and grammar on verbs in the past tense that take je suis/ on est . This is for a year 8 middle to high ability and the slide with guided writing has colour coding for verbs stated in the outcomes ( most = pink verbs, some pink and blue verbs )

Just a bit of culture, watch the clips, use for dictation, translation of texts and to develop listening skills. I have put some vocabulary of the various steps of the lesson to help and also a simple writing frame on the last slide to support writing

This is to go along with Studio 2 , unit 2 , J'adore paris , hence the title and reinforces the activities in the En Plus section. I have made notes at the bottom of each slide which suggest activities for the slide and the aim of this activity is not only to guide students to use both tenses accurately but to also show them the importance of other grammatical aspects such as the use of time expressions, connectives and opinions, as well as sentence development.

Lesson based on the use of technologies and internet. Recognising infinitives and joggling with other tenses, with main activities on error correcting in order to encourage students to work on accuracy, grammar and spellings. Used with year 10 but can be amended for other year groups.

On this presentation, you will find ideas to help your students move on from using single words to building sentences. You can adapt the slides to suit. There are ideas to help identifying differences with j'ai/ j'aime and more in sentences to support listening. You can use Slides 1 and 2 to train your students to pronounnce cognates accurately, then develop and set sentence challenges with mini whiteboards or in pairs. Simple, but effective, tried and tested in both primary and secondary activities.

Based on the module Planet Facebook in Studio 3. I have created a slightly longer text on use of social networking sites. This helps learning and understanding of regular verbs and gives opportunities to learn and identify structures for use of own vocabulary when writing and speaking about this topic.

This activity is designed to help students to develop their expertise in using the verbs to have and to be in French with correct forms, and to memorise and practise using correct pronouns for difficult reflexive verbs. the red is to support students to find the errors and the green indicates the subject so students can be encouraged to use these as a clue for both the verb formation and the gap fill for the work on reflexive verbs. There should be a fine balance between challenge and support for all abilities in this activity but feedback and comments are more than welcome.

I have used this for INSETS and CPDs for both PGCE students in MFL and also at whole school levels. The examples provided are MFL specific but can of course be amended for all subjects and purposes.

This is a lesson based on Studio 2, module 4 chez moi, chez toi, but I added the near future tense in the lesson, as the texts from the Studio dod not allow for this and there was a need to stretch more able. You will need to refer to the texts from Studio 2 to do the translations, but these can be done without looking at the texts if Studio 2 is not used. The sequencing activities was a differentiated activitiy to stretch more able while others needed consolidation with the tenses ( refer to lesson plan )

Quite humorous vocabulary but not rude and will certainly will keep you class engaged and teach them much relevant vocabulary on the topic of protecting the planet. You may use a follow up to my free resource on the COP 21.

I have designed this to support my year 7 in developing reading/ writing / translating skills. I started with the text ( pair work competition : each pupil has a different colour pen, the first to circle the translation in French in the text wins the point and it is quite visual at the end who is fastest . Great fro competition The other activities involve finding translations, matching up for lower ability and extending sentences from the given text. The last slide on the Power Point contains a writing list of bullet points ( goes with Studio 1 ’ il est hypercool’ but can be adapted for other courses. Simple resource to support students in understanding how to build this tense. The document can be easily adapted to the level of the students using this resource. I have left some clues for the conjugations of to have and to be spellings, but they can just be removed for further challenge.
