How to annotate your sketchbook pages

A key aspect students struggle with is how to annotate their sketchbook pages, whether it is an artist image or their own work. What we have found useful is giving students sentence starters and key words. Have a look at these worksheets we have made which we laminate back to back and use across all year groups. Thank you

Hi everyone This is a revamped project from my Technology Takeover and is one of my favorite and most successful A-Level art foundation projects. This has been designed to teach Year 12 art students different skills within a set theme which is relevant and interesting to everyone. This powerpoint has 125 slides and is based on the topic “Virtual Reality" Students will be given the opportunity to explore different drawing techniques, printing, painting, mixed media and photography and will explore a range of artists and if needed they can use some secondary reference material. This full project can be used for GCSE or A-Level students and is is a scheme of work which will last 2 terms. It has examples of students work and artist images for you to use and share with students. I hope you find this project inspiring. Thank you

This is a really fun set of examples used with year 10 GCSE students on the theme of FOOD. This Powerpoint introduces them to Expressive and realism artists. Each lesson is broken down and the artist images are given. Artists used are Robert Joyner and Sarah Graham This set of work will last 2- 3 weeks and students can also produce an artist analysis page after the workshops. It has printable images/templates for students. The students absolutley loved this workshop and I enjoyed teaching it too.

Easy guide to create a screen recording for your distance learning lessons

Hi everyone I have been teaching for 4 weeks now from home and I wanted to share with you how to create a voice over using Screencastify. I promise you it has changed my way of teaching and so far, the students have loved having the lessons delivered this way. It goes through the very basic steps of how to download and install the app, how to record, trim and how to download and share with your students. FYI: Anyone who is not very techy can do this. I have attached 3 files: 1: A 4 minute video demonstrating step by step instructions on how to use screencastify 2: The 4 minute video I used to show my Year 9 Art class 3: The Powerpoint for my lesson Any questions about this resource, please feel free to email me thestudentartroom@gmail.com Thank you Sarah
