Hi English teachers!! We are all so busy and I am finding TES is a great new place to share resources and cut down on planning. Here I will post resources for the new GCSE specifications. I teach AQA Eng Lang and Lit - Jekyll, Inspector, Power and Conflict, Xmas Carol. I teach OCR A Level Literature and igcse resit. I also have lots of KS3 resources and starter activities which can be used for KS2 or KS3. I hope you find something of interest.

Charles Dickens - A Christmas Carol - introduction - Stave One

Thorough introduction to A Christmas Carol by Dickens. Geared towards KS4 19th century Literature text. My exam board is AQA but can be used with any exam board. 20 slides KS4 assessment objectives Language to describe Scrooge and Marley in Stave One Background to Victorian beliefs and superstitions Dickens and the Victorian Gothic 7 deadly sins Several questions and tasks, drama role play/script as an extension task I hope you find this a useful introduction to the novel. Can be used for KS3 also, (perhaps removing the 7 Deadly sins if too scary). Enough here for 2-3 lessons. I will upload the rest of the Staves.
